In this learning scenario, 4th grade primary school students explore recycling, sustainability, creativity, and programming through hands-on activities. They create useful and playful objects from waste materials (trash cans made from paper cups and games made from cardboard boxes) and develop an interactive Scratch game using micro:bit to learn about proper waste sorting. In science class, students learned the basics of waste, the need for recycling, and waste separation. They applied the knowledge they gained in computer science classes, and the program they created in Scratch can be used by younger students as educational material when introducing them to the topic of waste.
