In this Earth Day lesson, SS explore common environmental myths, research the truth behind them, and create short, impactful TikTok-style videos to raise awareness among their peers. This lesson combines critical thinking, media literacy, and environmental education.

Nastavnička priprema

T reads 6 statements about the ecology.  Ss guess if each is a myth or fact by raising red card or green card. Statements & Key: 1.	“You must always rinse containers before recycling.” – Myth 2.	“Composting helps reduce landfill waste.” – Fact 3.	“Climate change is mostly caused by natural cycles.” – Myth 4.	“Bringing your own cup or bag helps reduce waste.” – Fact 5.	“Recycling one plastic bottle saves enough energy to power a light bulb for 3 hours.” – Fact 6.	“Recycling is the BEST way to save the planet.” Myth Whole class: Ss discuss correct answers briefly. 

•	Ss choose a myth from the handout (https://www.canva.com/design/DAGpGZoHAGc/DbzrXe1B6g6PgHxE8Fueyw/view?utm_content=DAGpGZoHAGc&utm_campaign=designshare&utm_medium=link&utm_source=publishsharelink&mode=preview )or the find one on their own. •	Ss use reliable sources (UN, WWF, EarthDay.org, etc.) to research facts. •	Ss fill in the Script Organizer: o	Myth o	Fact (1–2 sentences, clear and simple) o	Tip (practical advice) •	T is a moderator who checks students’ work and gives feedback.

Group work: •	Ss prepare a short video (max 60–90 seconds) using Canva or a similar tool. •	Ss design their video (clear introduction of the myth, accurate facts, creative visual storytelling, call to action). •	Ss record the narration using vocaroo and add it to their video. •	Ss posts the video to a class TikTok account (or saves it for teacher upload). Formative assessment: Ss review their video using a checklist (clarity, accuracy, creativity).
