Opis materijala
This project-based learning activity introduces students to air quality monitoring through the Sensor.Community citizen science platform. Students collect, analyse and interpret air pollution data, investigate environmental factors affecting air quality and compare results with data from other regions. The material develops scientific, analytical and digital skills while promoting environmental awareness, active citizenship and participation in real-world environmental research.
Znanja koja će učenici steći
Through this citizen science project, students will develop an understanding of air pollution, particulate matter (PM2.5 and PM10) and their effects on human health and the environment. They will learn how environmental data are collected, monitored and interpreted using digital platforms. Students will strengthen scientific inquiry skills through observation, data collection and analysis, while improving mathematical and digital competencies by creating tables, calculating averages and interpreting graphs. The project promotes environmental awareness, critical thinking and problem-solving, helping students understand the causes and consequences of urban pollution. It also develops teamwork, communication and intercultural skills through collaborative investigation and discussion of environmental challenges in different regions.
