In this lesson, students explore Easter traditions in Croatia through reading, discussion, vocabulary work, and visual note-taking. Using an informational text about Croatian Easter customs, students identify key information about religious traditions, food, customs, family celebrations, and unique regional practices. They then transform the information into a creative one-pager that combines text, visuals, symbols, and key vocabulary. The activity develops reading comprehension, cultural awareness, creativity, and the ability to summarize information visually. Students learn to present information concisely while using accurate English and visual communication techniques. The lesson is based on the reading text about Croatian Easter traditions and the one-pager instructions provided to students.

Students collect 10–15 Easter-related words from the text and create a vocabulary bank. These words will later be written around the border of their one-pager.

Using the provided instructions, a checklist and visual model, students create a one-pager with a title in the centre and 4–6 thematic sections around it. Instead of writing long paragraphs, they use short notes, keywords, arrows, drawings, symbols, and colours to present information visually. Students add Easter vocabulary around the frame and include illustrations that support the content.
