    UVOD Učiteljica nastoji motivirati učenike kratkim uvodom prisjećajući se teme koju su učili na prethodnom satu- Perfecting Humans. Today, you are not just students – you are teams of specialists. Each team must choose ONE representative. This person must be brave enough to face the first challenge. Only those who prove they are ready may enter the Escape Room with their team. Choose your representative wisely. You have 30 seconds. (Nakon izbora:) Representatives, come to the front. Your task will decide whether your team is worthy to continue. (Na PPT su zadaci, učenici-predstavnici timova pišu na papir rješenja prva dva izazova) 1) Unscramble the word: SNAMUH GNITCEFREP (PERFECTING HUMANS) 2) A riddle: “I can make people healthier and stronger even more beautiful but I can also be dangerous. I can save lives, but I raise ethical questions. What am I?” (genetic engineering / perfecting humans / science) 3) Learning appps na interaktivnoj ploči: https://learningapps.org/display?v=p62x1b94526 Predstavnici timova zajedno rješavaju zadnji zadatak. “You have proven that your teams are ready.” “The Escape Room is now open.”

    GLAVNI DIO SATA: Učenici su već unaprijed podijeljeni u 3 /4 grupe (ovisno o broju prisutnih učenika na satu). Učiteljica objasni tijek rada. Svaka grupa dobije jednu po jednu omotnicu sa zadacima. Kada riješe točno zadatke iz prve omotnice i napišu točno rješenje (kombinacija slova), otključali su prvu omotnicu i učiteljica im daje drugu. Postoje 4 omotnice. Kad završe sa 4. omotnicom, učenici dobe informaciju kako je na poleđini svake je skrivena riječi/riječi od kojih trebaju oblikovati rečenicu. To je jedna od tajnih informacija „Top Secet“ plana za našu budućnost. Jedna od rečenica , uputa je kako uništiti taj Top Secret dokument. Grupni rad Učiteljica pokreće PowerPoint : (zvučni zapis ili čita) The year is 2050. Scientists have created powerful technologies that can improve the human body and mind. People can become stronger, faster, smarter and even cure diseases. But there is a problem. Some experts warn that humans may lose their privacy, individuality and freedom. A secret document „Perfecting Humans“ has been leaked. The information is locked inside sealed envelopes. Solve all the tasks to unlock the final message and destroy the document- it is in a microchip. Your time is limited. The future depends on you. Svaka grupa dobije 1. omotnicu sa zadacima. ENVELOPE 2 Decide if the sentences are a FACT (F) or OPINION (O) 1. Cosmetic surgery can remove scars. _____ 2. Many people think cosmetic surgery is ugly. ______ 3. Chemicals are usually banned in sport competitions. ______ 4. Human enhancement is definitaly bad for society. ______ 5. Implants could cure brain diseases. ________ 6. Some people in Sweden have voluntarily had microchips implanted in their hands.___ SOLUTION: FOFOFF ENVELOPE 3 Decide if the expressions are ADVANTAGES (A) od DISADVANTAGES (D) of genetic engineering: CURE DISEASE _______ IMPROVE MENTAL ABILITIES _______ FASTER AND STRONGER ATHLETES ________ DANGEROUS CHEMICALS __________ LOSS OF PRIVACY _________ Small MICROCHIPS (about the size of a grain of rice) are implanted under the skin, usually between the thumb and index finger. They can be used instead of keys, office or gym access cards, public transport tickets, and for storing basic information. _________ SOLUTION: AAADDA/D ENVELOPE 4 Answer the questions using the text „Perfecting Humans“ and the text in your Workbook, page 45. (if necessary) 1. Name one invention that helps people with disabilities. ________________________ 2. What could people lose because of brain implants? __________________________ 3. Will all people be able to afford human enhancement?Explain. _________ 4. Why do some people in Sweden choose to have microchips implanted in their hands? _______________________________________________ 5. Do we want to be perfect by our choice, or is the idea of perfection imposed on us (nametnuta)? ___________________________________________________________ Učiteljica upućuje učenike da na poleđini omotnice pronađu riječi, pomoću njih oblikuju rečenice , a to su zapravo informacije iz Top secret dokumeta , ali i uputa kako taj dokument uništiti. Rečenice su: PEOPLE WILL BE CONTROLLED THROUGH GENETIC ENGINEERING. MICROCHIPS IMPLANTED INTO THE HANDS WILL BE MANDATORY. DESTROY THE SECRET PLAN HIDDEN IN THE MICROCHIP. IT'S UNDER THE LETTER „F“. ALL THE PEOPLE WILL BE PROGRAMMED AND OBEY AS ONE. Učenici trebaju razmisliti te u učionici pronaći skriveni mikročip. Kada ga pronađu (ako) , unište ga i spase nas od zlouporabe genetskog inžinjerstva.
