The learning scenario/lesson plan was created for the purpose of MOOC "Teach Europe" (European Schoolnet Academy) in March/April 2025. It was based on collaborative-learning experience within the eTwinning project "EPASsionates" (2024/2025). It includes the following topics: Climate Change & Sustainability (SDGs 4, 11, 13 & 17), EU in Every-Day Life, Social Studies & Participatory Democracy (EPAS, CLIL-method). The teacher/author is the European Parliament Ambassador School coordinator, her students being junior EP ambassadors, familiar with the concept of democracy (as well as other 5 European values), historical & cultural background of the EU).

By the end of this lesson, students will understand the principles and significance of participatory democracy, identify ways citizens (including themselves) can actively engage in their communities and government, evaluate the impact of individual and collective actions in a democratic society, using critical thinking, collaboration, and actionable learning to foster active citizenship. Sts will develop 5 linguistic skills (mediation included), critical & creative skills
