The lesson plan was created (in May/June 2024) for the purpose of reinforcing literary interpretation in the specific context – the students will work on 5 different fairytales, written by Ivana Brlić Mažuranić, in the year (2024) celebrated as the 150th birth anniversary of the famous Croatian writer (part of Croatian National Curriculum); the students will explore eTwinning project materials and reinforce their linguistic skills by discussing various protagonists' quests in relation to the specific European values just before the European Parliament Elections (in June 2024)

By the end of the lesson students will be able to name and visually/digitally present (their personal & every individual's) specific quests that are related to universal European values; they will understand the importance of these values, particularly democracy and youths' participation in European democratic processes (concretely, the European Elections 2024). Learning objectives: to explore the use of AI-generated art (Bing-created images), and the work of Ivana Brlić Mažuranić (5 fairytale excerpts & summaries/original text translated into English) as a tool for enhancing vocabulary building, developing 5 linguistic skills, critical thinking skill and creative expression in English lang. learning; to explore the European teaching materials (EPAS program), concretely European values, as well as the eTwinning project (Vote4Democracy Ambassadors) materials, concretely the comic book Ricardo, a Young Villager Travels to Democracy, as a tool for enhancing vocabulary building, cultural exploration, critical thinking and creative expression in English language learning; to create a practical, engaging, and interactive learning experience for students; to improve students' vocabulary retention & develop linguistic skills through literary associations, AI-tool-usage and real-life contemporary problem discussions. The cross-curricular outcomes are defined in the lesson plan.
