tIn order to commemorate the life of the longest-reigning monarch in English history, students learn about the life and legacy of Queen Elizabeth. Outcomes Ss create posters about Queen Elizabeth Ss present their posters orally using signpost language Activity 1 In pairs, Ss design a mind map about Queen Elizabeth using only visuals. They try and guess the meaning of the other pair’s mind map. Activity 2 Pair work – Ss choose one of the offered topics (Queen Elizabeth – important milestones, Operation London Bridge, What’s in the future) and do online research on Queen Elizabeth’s life, her death and funeral, and what lies ahead of the British royal family). Ss plan their poster which will serve as a visual background of the presentation. Activity 3 Pair work Ss create the poster (images and text). Activity 4 Pair work Ss write the narration for the presentation following the rules (introduction, body, conclusion) and using signpost language. Ss practice presenting. Ss present their poster. Assessment – rubrics are used for formative and summative assessment.
