Why is it important? What makes a successful advertisement? Using that information, write your own definition of advertising. Present it in a word cloud (no word repetitions and mind the orientation as well as the word cloud shape).   Activity 2. The history of advertising Create a (digital) timeline with the most important stages of the history of advertising - go to Canva, create a new design: a timeline Infographic. Make sure your infographic template/background and elements are in accordance with the topic of advertising. Check your grammar and spelling. Activity 3. Types of advertising. Create a digital mind map of different types of advertising with examples - go to Canva, use this template. Make sure your mind map design and elements are in accordance with the topic of advertising. Check your grammar and spelling. Activity 4. Advertising strategies   Do this EdPuzzle quiz on advertising techniques. Watch the video again, and write the advertising strategies in this template and add at least two more on your own to the list. Activity 5. Advertisement analysis Search the Internet and choose one ad that you find interesting. You are going to analyse it. In your analysis, you will need to answer the following questions: What type of an advert is it? Where can you see it; What product/service is being advertised? Who are the people targeted? Ss describe the advert - use adjectives, images, facts Which strategies/tricks are used? Provide your opinion: What can be done better? What makes it perfect? While preparing for your oral presentation of the analyses, remember to use the signpost language. Before recording your audio in vocaroo.com, use the self-assessment checklist. Activity 6. Go to Canva, New design - a video and then follow the following steps in preparing this presentation: It will be the end-result of the whole project and also help you present in class. Slide 1: Introduce the topic of advertising: design the title slide Slide 2: WordArt - advertising definition Slide 3: Your timeline Infographic - history of advertising Slide 4: Your mind map on - types of advertising Slide 5: Your design on advertising strategies Slide 6: The ad of your choice, designed slide and add the audio. Make sure that the whole slides asts the same as the audio. Slide 7: Final slide of the project - up to you
