Opis materijala
The main aim of this project was to develop the European citizenship of our students while making them study war and peace process especially on the European ground between 1914 and 1919. Each partner was chosen in link with its nationality and history ( XIXth European empire / creation of new national state at the end of the war )( Austro-Hungarian empire / Croatian partner ) ( Ottoman empire: Greek partner ) ( French empire: French homeland and oversea ). The various activities gave our students the opportunity to exchange about the different battles terms and conditions of this conflict as welle about the evolution of technology and homefront life. A collaborative peace workshop ended the school year.
At first our students worked in national pairs in order to present their respective highschool the historical situation of their previous empire as well as their national battles. They realised interactive kahoot and quizzes that were posted online towards their European partners. They were also encouraged to participate to various forums about this subject on the twinspace.
In a second time European teams for peace were created. Our students had to participate to a international remembrance and peace workshop and make a choice among six various theme (Peace treaties related to Austro-Hungarian empire German empire Russian empire Ottoman empire / Refugees migration / League of nation's creation)
This project was included in the historical program of the partners ( CLIL history European Section in France homeland and oversea History in Croatia ) and in each European citizenship program especially for Greece. The activities were given all along the school year. In October November icebreaking activities and presentation of the main European empires. In January February the main stages of the conflict and to finish the signature of the peace treaties in May and June.
Our students have developed and increased their intercultural and language learning skills in collaboration with their Croatian Greek and French partners. As the English language was the only one used in the twinspace they were asked to read and analyse various historical documents improve their knowledge and write final task in English. They also had to develop their creativity skills thanks to those activities.
Our students worked much more together in a European collaboration during this last step of the project. Our forum about their daily life during quarantine fears and hopes was also a great success.
Project activities were enriched by various videos recorded by the students and posted online. Mindmaps were also created and posted in order to illustrate various battles and armement technologies. An online magazine was created as a final task. At the end of the project students were also asked to assess the project while completing a Microsoft Forms online document.
The project was awarded the European Quality Label.
